Important Hosting Update (13/01/25)
Mid-december, we announced that as of February 1st, 2025, ISMS Copilot would no longer offer EU-hosted conversations due to the closure of our EU provider. In the meantime, we hosted conversations in the US, with GDPR compliance ensured through Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) and robust data protection measures.
But, we’re happy to announce that our ability to offer 100% EU hosted assistants is finally maintained.
So, we’ll keep supporting assistance for EU regulations (DORA, NIS2, EU AI ACT, Cyber Resilience Act, GDPR), and these assistants will be hosted in the EU. This information supersedes any other information about EU hosting. We confirm as of 13/01/2025 that ISMS Copilot EU is back in the game.

Our EU-based partner behind ISMS Copilot EU officially announced us they’re going out of business**,** and despite our best efforts, we haven’t found a suitable replacement yet.
They were offering a unique ability: leveraging AI models (Mistral AI) hosted in Sweden, hosting of the conversations data in the Amsterdam, and customized data retention settings for each chatbot.
The result for us was being able to offer you custom assistants 100% hosted in the EU, with the most ambitious data retention settings.
To our biggest regret, as of 1st February 2025, our provider will permanently cease their operations.
Consequently, the EU version of ISMS Copilot, focusing on EU regulations such as DORA, GDPR, EU AI Act, Cyber Resilience Act, NIS2) will have to adapt, and be hosted in the US.
The alternative would be plain and discontinuation of this service, but we care about our users and customers, and prefer offering you assistants transferring your data to the US than no assistants.
So, we will continue to offer assistance with DORA, GDPR, EU AI Act and the previously mentioned regulations, but the assistants won’t be labelled “EU” anymore, as they will transfer conversation data to the US.
We recognize that relying on a US provider for assistance with EU regulations isn’t ideal. We’re committed to bring back the 100% EU hosting option as soon as we find a suitable provider. This temporary transition is a direct response to our EU provider’s closure.
To maintain service continuity, we use Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) to ensure GDPR compliance, alongside robust encryption, limited retention, and strict access controls.
Restoring an EU-based hosting solution is a priority for us. While we cannot guarantee a timeline, we will share updates as soon as we have concrete progress. More answers to your potential questions below.
Our EU-based hosting provider ceased operations, and we currently have no cost-effective, high-quality alternatives that can replace it. While this decision was not made lightly, using a US-based provider allows us to maintain uninterrupted service without imposing significant price increases on our users. Any comparable EU option at this time would be roughly 20 times more expensive, making it necessary for us to raise our subscription rates substantially. We chose to avoid that scenario to keep the platform accessible and affordable.
Yes, we consider this a temporary measure. We understand the importance of EU-based hosting for many of our customers and their compliance requirements. As soon as a viable, reasonably priced EU-based hosting option becomes available, we will reassess and potentially move back to EU infrastructure. We’re actively monitoring the market and exploring future opportunities to return to EU hosting without compromising affordability.
No, all conversations with ISMS Copilot EU had a 30-day data retention. Moving to US hosting for our EU-focused assistants means we’ll start blank, not re-import your previous conversations, that will all be deleted as per our request.
